Open call for applications to the Gateshead Fund

The Council agreed the creation of the Gateshead Fund (Local Community Fund and a Capacity Building Fund) in March 2011.

The overall aim of the Fund is to achieve a thriving voluntary and community and social enterprise sector in Gateshead. The Fund will support both infrastructure and delivery organisations to diversify their income by increasing skills and expertise, expand their services or consider new ways of working to build their capacity so they become more sustainable. Smaller grassroots organisations will continue to be supported and will complement the Local Community Fund.

The Council has agreed a £620,000 budget for the Gateshead Fund (Capacity Building Fund) in 2012/13.

Round 2 (open call for applications) commenced on 14 May and will close for applications on 8 June with funding decisions to be agreed by Cabinet in September.
